It’s super simple to charge your Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. Simply plug the charger cord in to the vehicle's power outlet. It comes with a Level I 120-volt AC charging cord set, which requires a conventional 120-volt AC grounded wall receptacle along with the portable charging cord set.
You will find the charging cord set by opening the cargo area storage bin on the driver side. Inside the bin, you’ll find the charging cord in a storage bag. Keep in mind that this cord set is for Level I charging only.
Before you begin charging, it’s important to ensure that your vehicle is turned off and in Park. Once you begin, plug the AC plug of the charging set into the grounded wall receptacle. Then, take the charge connector and place it in the vehicle’s charge inlet. A “click” will be heard when inserted correctly, and the charge active indicator lights will cycle from left to right. Once your vehicle is fully charged, the lights in the charge indicator will show all five bars. You’re now ready to go.
The Level I 120-volt charger can be fully recharged in approximately 14 hours.
You can shorten the time and charge your Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid in as little as 2 hours by using an available Level II 240-volt charger*.
However, the estimated charging times are based on a completely discharged high-voltage battery. Charging times will vary based on various factors including the age, condition, state of charge, available current being provided to the charger from its energy source and temperature of the high-voltage battery.
Need to charge your vehicle on the go? Don’t worry, we’ve got just what you need. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid comes with the Level I charger. And when you’re on the go and need a little extra charge, the Uconnect® system can help you find charging stations wherever you are. The regenerative braking feature also helps to charge while driving. One more cool tool that comes with your Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is the Hybrid Coaching tool, which is there to help you drive as efficiently as you can in order to minimize charging frequency.
Yes, the vehicle can be charged at a public charging station. These stations have Level II 240-volt chargers and take around 2 hours to fully charge the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid with a completely discharged battery.
Finding the nearest charging station is right at your fingertips. Simply go to the navigation tab of the touchscreen on the Uconnect® 5 and search for charging stations. You can also use the mobile app to determine charging station availability and other details. To do this, open the Uconnect mobile app on your smartphone*. Under the location tab, type in charging stations to locate and view all the available charging stations in your area. You can then use Send & Go to send the charging station locations to your vehicle’s navigation system.
You can set the charging schedule through the Uconnect® 5 System in the Hybrid Electric pages. To access these pages, select the App button on the main menu bar and then select the Hybrid Electric app. Then select "Schedules" to set up a charging schedule. Choose which schedule you'd like to set up. Then touch "Charge Schedule." From there, you can adjust the start and stop time of your desired charging schedule. You can also choose "Charge Until Full", allowing the vehicle to fully charge versus stopping at a certain time. The charging schedule can also be set using the Uconnect App on your smartphone. See? That wasn’t so hard, was it?
You can easily find the portable charging cord set by opening the cargo area storage bin - on the driver side - and removing the charging cord set from the storage bag.
No need to worry about water, the charging cord is designed for indoor and outdoor use and for all weather conditions.
With the purchase of a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, you may be eligible for a one-time federal tax credit of up to $7,500*. You could receive a portion of the $7,500 tax credit even if your tax liability is below $7,500.
Below is an example of how the federal tax credit is applied. This example assumes an individual's annual income of $100,000 with an estimated annual federal tax liability of $17,000. By purchasing a new Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, the purchaser may qualify for a one-time federal tax credit of up to $7,500*. This tax credit would reduce the purchaser's federal tax liability for the year in which the vehicle was purchased.
With a $17,000 estimated annual tax liability, minus the $7,500 federal tax credit, the purchaser would have a $9,500 estimated annual federal tax liability.
Generally, federal taxes are deducted throughout the year through withholding taxes from paychecks or through estimated payments. As a result, this federal tax credit and the related reduction to federal tax liability could result in a higher federal tax refund when filing a federal tax return.
Yes, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid qualifies for a one-time federal tax credit of up to $7,500*. Also, because the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is a plug-in vehicle, you may qualify for additional state and local incentives. Click the link below to learn about other incentives that may be available.
It takes 13 kWh to fully charge the battery. Using the national average electricity rate of $0.14/kWh, it costs approximately $1.82 to fully charge the battery using a home charger*.
Why Pacifica Hybrid
Outside of being America’s first and only plug-in hybrid minivan, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid offers many Class-Exclusive features that are designed to make family life a whole lot easier. With Easy-Slide Second-Row Seat, families can easily access the third row—even with a rear-facing child seat in the second row. Keep the kids entertained with the most advanced seven-passenger hybrid entertainment system* featuring the available Uconnect® Theater* with dual touchscreens. Also enjoy the standard 10.1-inch Uconnect touchscreen, the largest in its class*. And with the available Tri-Pane Panoramic Sunroof, you can take the kids out at night to watch the stars. These are just a few of the advantages that the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has over the competition.
We think both vehicles are a great option. One important advantage of the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is the ability to drive on an all-electric charge so you’ll spend less time at the pump and more time going about your day. And don’t worry, you won’t lose out on other features by choosing the Pacifica Hybrid. Both the Chrysler Pacifica and Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid are equipped with many of the same amenities—with conveniences like amazing cargo space, including third-row Stow ’n Go®, seating for seven and many standard innovative safety and security features. Adaptive Cruise Control*, Blind Spot Monitoring* and Rear Cross Path Detection* are just a few examples. In our opinion, you can't go wrong by picking either of these vehicles.
Maybe because it’s one of the most innovative vehicles out there. But also, as America’s first and only plug-in hybrid minivan, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid offers great fuel economy. With a pure electric range of 32 miles*, 82 MPGe* and a total driving range of 520 miles*, you can go pretty far in this minivan. Once the electric charge is fully consumed, the vehicle seamlessly transitions to using solely gas, so you never have to worry about being stranded. PHEV technology offers both electric when you want it, for running errands or shorter trips, and gas when you need it, for those longer weekend road trips.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has an all-electric range of 32 miles*. And when it’s fully charged and has a full tank of fuel, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid will deliver a total driving range of up to 520 miles*. You'll go far in the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.
The top speed in all-electric mode is approximately 80 mph.
We’ve built a vehicle that does the thinking for you. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid constantly monitors various factors like terrain and temperature to ensure it is always in the most efficient mode. This helps to make every trip seamless and easy for the driver.
One way to maximize your range during the winter season is to keep your vehicle fully charged when possible. In order to maximize the battery charge, consider gradual accelerations when possible. When doing so, you will be able to help keep miles driven in electric mode.
The electric range suffers in cold weather due to needing more energy from the battery for the heating systems and also in hot weather due to heavier load on the air conditioning system. Also, the batteries are often less efficient at low or high temperatures.
Driving in Low (L) will increase the rate of deceleration along with increasing regeneration of power into the vehicle's high-voltage battery. Drive (D) is for everyday conditions.
This is known as miles per gallon of gasoline equivalent (MPGe), and the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is rated at an incredible 82 MPGe*.
It’s a pretty complex system, but we’ll try to simplify it for you. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid utilizes two electric drive motors, a planetary gear set and a one-way clutch internal to its transmission. Each electric drive motor has a primary function. One motor is used for charging the high-voltage battery and starting the gas engine while the other is used solely for electric drive operation. The Pacifica Hybrid is unique in that given the one-way clutch, the charging/starting motor can also be used in dual motor electric drive. This additional functionality maximizes efficiency and also allows for optimum all-electric drive vehicle speed. The V6 engine is seamlessly integrated into the powertrain and contributes toward high-voltage battery charging or vehicle propulsion automatically based on driving conditions. Both motors are constantly working to best integrate electric power versus gas (until charge is depleted) or vice versa. The system is constantly monitoring to provide you with maximum fuel efficiency.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is equipped with a standard Audible Pedestrian Warning System, which uses distinct sounds to alert pedestrians that your vehicle is approaching. The sounds are made from an in-car sound synthesizer with a speaker located in the underhood compartment. The warning system is automatically activated when the vehicle is in Reverse, Neutral, Drive or Low.
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is America's largest hybrid* and can seat up to seven passengers.
While the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is loaded with great features, it should not be used for towing and has no official tow rating. The Chrysler Pacifica gas model can tow up to 3,600 pounds*.
Maintenance and Care
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid requires unleaded regular gasoline having a posted octane number of 87. The use of higher octane premium gasoline is not required. Do not use E85 fuel or other ethanol blends greater than 15% in this engine.
The expected life of the lithium-ion battery is the life of the vehicle. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid also comes with a 10-Year/150,000-Mile Limited Battery Warranty* or a 10-Year/100,000-Mile Limited Battery Warranty*, depending on where you bought the vehicle or the state you live in.
Don’t worry, your vehicle will help by reminding you. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is equipped with an automatic oil change indicator system. The oil change indicator system will remind you that it is time to take your vehicle in for scheduled maintenance. You can take the vehicle to any FCA US LLC franchised dealership in your area. Now that’s some smart engineering on our part.
Let’s just say it helps make your vehicle more efficient. Since it is possible for the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid to operate for extended periods of time without running the gas engine, this mode helps minimize the potential for stale fuel and helps ensure proper lubrication of internal engine components. The vehicle will automatically enter this mode and will exit when conditions have been satisfied. When operating in this mode, the gas engine will run to provide vehicle propulsion. Additionally, a message will appear on the Driver Information Digital Cluster Display when this mode is activated.
There are a number of limited warranties for the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The lithium-ion battery is covered under a 10-Year/150,000-Mile Limited Warranty* or a 10-Year/100,000-Mile Limited Warranty*, depending on the state you bought your vehicle or live in. Additionally, you get the FCA US LLC 5-Year/60,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty*.
